A highlights package of our Honeymoon to Dubai and the Maldives in December 2007

Question by English Rose (due 2nd May): Honeymoon in the MALDIVES?
We’re considering a honeymoon in the Maldives this summer, but we dont’ know whether to choose one or two weeks. We want to have a two week honeymoon, but we’re worried that there’s not enough to do there. I know the Maldives is about relaxing and not doing anything, and that’s great, but we were also considering doing something more active for the second week.

Has anyone been, and can you give an idea of what it was like? Also, they are offering a twin centre package, in which you visit two islands, staying one week on each. Do you know if this would be worth doing? I’m wondering if one island would be much the same as the other…

If not, do you know anywhere nearby that might be worth a stay?
AND…

I just read that September is in the monsoon season. Is it still worth visiting during this time, or should we avoid it? I don’t mind it raining a little, but if it’s likely to rain more than it’s sunny, then we might give it a miss…

We were there for 4 days. It was wonderful . But two weeks will bore you silly unless you like scuba diving. The islands are beautiful with white sand beaches. The “huts” are picturesque. When we were there, the moon was so bright it was almost like daytime. The islands are all the same so they will not give variety.
If you would travel that far why not consider Thailand and stay a week at a lovely beach and spend the other week traveling around the country.
