Honeymoon Holidays in Italy
There are few places more romantic than Italy and that is why it is the perfect country in which to take your honeymoon. It is a country steeped in a history as old as man and a culture as wide as the mind has to offer. There is almost no end of options for honeymoon holidays.
For those interested in world history and culture, Italy is a treasure trove. 2000 years ago, Italy was the heart of the Roman Empire. Honeymooning couples can easily spend two weeks discovering and exploring the ancient ruins that can still be found throughout the country. From the world-famous Colosseum in the heart of Rome to the spectacularly well preserved ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum on the coast of Campania. Less well known but equally gorgeous is the Valley of the Temples on Sicily. Though now in ruins, the valley remains a site to behold, particularly during the early spring when the surrounding almond trees are in blossom.
The carpet of pink leaves makes the perfect romantic setting for honeymoon holidays. Also on Sicily, one can see the ruins of Selinunte, the columns of the ruined port still lying where they fell when the Carthaginians attacked in 250 BC.
Of course, Italy’s history does not start and end with the Romans. The country is home to no less than 47 World Heritage Sites: as many as the UK, the Republic of Ireland and Greece combined. These historic and geographic sites extend throughout the entire history of the Italian peninsula. There is the Palace of Caserta, constructed in the eighteenth century as the royal residence of the Bourbon kings of Naples. The palace was the largest of its time and boasts parks considered superior in beauty even to those of the Palace of Versailles which inspired them.
The Amalfi Coast offers the kind of stunning landscape that many honeymooning couples wish to seek out. Located on the southern shore of the Sorrentine Peninsula, the magnificent shoreline rises to high, green pinnacles before plunging into the pond-flat Gulf of Salerno.
In the north of the country, there are the Dolomites, a mountain range in the Southern Limestone Alps. The area is popular with sports fans, offering skiing, free climbing and, for the most adventurous, Base Jumping. A perfect honeymoon holiday destination for the sports fans.
Immortal composers as diverse as Gioachino Rossini, Antonio Salieri, Giacomo Puccini and Giuseppe Verdi all hailed from this great land. Tourists looking to engage with the country’s musical history may be interested in visiting one of its famous opera houses. Milan’s La Scala is probably the country’s most well known. Designed by Giuseppe Piermarini, the neoclassical building opened in 1778 with a performance of Salieri’s “Europa riconosciuta”. It has since hosted the premiers of countless other famous operas, including Puccini’s Madame Butterfly and Turandot, and Verdi’s Nabucco. Other famous theatres and opera houses in this most operatic of countries include Venice’s La Fenice, the Teatro di San Carlo and the Teatro Massimo.
Whether you and your new partner are lovers of landscape, architecture, history or music, Italy has something to offer you. There is no country on Earth that offers so diverse a range of honeymoon holidays. Get online, find a booking agent and start planning your dream honeymoon now.

Question by Theresa S: Should we go to Atlantis or Italy for our December honeymoon?
We are getting married in December 2008, still some time ahead. I’m trying to decide which of the two would be better for the honeymoon. Italy- weather: fair, price: cheaper in December, culture, history. BUT Atlantis is only 2 hours from New Jersey, resort, is the weather going to be warm enough? So many questions. I need some feedback! Thanks.

Ticket To Perfect Holidays With Travel Coupons
There are as many travel coupons as there are types of ways to travel. Landlubbers who prefer both feet on the ground provide the bodies to fill trains, buses and other land-based travel modes. Those willing to soar in the skies or bob along on vast expanse of waters make the numbers for air, sea and river travel. Short of staying on board a cruise liner, the demand for rooms never fails to depreciate. Since a holiday is never complete without a stay in a hotel, it is unlikely for an establishment to run out of business unless it takes no effort to sport branding and attraction.
Holiday makers operate on a different wavelength as compared to business travelers. Some willingly travel on low cost carriers as they feel the same money can be better spent on hotels boasting as many stars as they dare to print on their brochures and web sites without drawing undue attention from better business bureaus. Although full service airlines provide baggage and leg allowance, hours-old meals akin to reheated television dinners tend to cause a spin cycle in most travelers’ bellies. It is therefore not surprising to see travel coupons generally associated with budget airlines being quickly snapped up as they supposedly charge less than the big boys for similar deliverables.
In addition to the elements of flying and hotel stays, car rentals take their rightful place for road trips. By seeking out offers promising extensive miles at a flat rate, these help to enhance the experience without having to constantly check the odometer. There is also no need to risk going where no man has driven before in hopes of finding a shortcut to trim a few miles off the scenic route.
By providing packages comprising transportation with hotel stays, travel coupons prove to be more popular amongst the masses of holiday makers. Tie up all loose ends with taxi or shuttle arrangements to transport family and luggage to the final destination without further hairs going astray.
